Sharp manufactures some of its television models to allow owners to periodically upgrade the software for online diagnostics, video-streaming applications and other functions. Upgradable TVs, such as the Aquos line of LCDs, have USB ports to provide an easy way to install updates. Sharp makes the most current version of the firmware available for free on its website.
